Ski and snowboard equipment travels free — declare it so the right vehicle is sent — and in winter our cars carry winter tyres and chains as the mountain roads require. Cortina d'Ampezzo
About the destination
Cortina d'Ampezzo sits at 1,224 m among the pale walls of the Tofane, Cristallo and Faloria. It staged the Winter Olympics in 1956 and again, with Milan, in February 2026, and has been Italy's most fashionable mountain town for a century. In winter the Dolomiti Superski pass covers 1,200 km of pistes; in summer the same peaks carry via ferrate and mountain refuges, with the Cinque Torri and the Great War museum above the valley.
About the route
Road, traffic and timing
The route joins the A27 north to Belluno, then the SS51 Alemagna through Longarone and Pieve di Cadore to Cortina: 137 km, about 1h45, tolls included. The last 40 km are mountain road.
Travel tips
Know before you go
- Declare ski bags at booking — it decides the vehicle
- Peak Saturdays are changeover day across the Dolomites: book early and leave early

Ski season runs December to mid-April, peaking at Christmas, New Year and the February half-terms. Summer, from late June, is the season of the refuges. Between seasons many hotels close and transfers thin out — book ahead in those weeks.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
How much is a transfer from Treviso airport to Cortina?+
From €340 for up to 3 passengers, €425 for a Mercedes V-Class up to 6, which is the vehicle to book with ski equipment. Tolls included.
How long is the drive?+
About one hour and 45 minutes for 137 km. In heavy snow or on peak-season Saturdays, allow 30 minutes more.
Is Treviso closer to Cortina than Venice?+
Slightly: 137 km against 147. In practice the difference is ten minutes; choose the airport by the flight, not the distance.
Do you carry ski equipment?+
Yes, free of charge. Declare it at booking: a sedan takes two ski bags, four or more need the V-Class.
What happens if it snows heavily?+
The vehicles carry winter tyres and chains and the journey simply takes longer. If a road is closed by the authorities we tell you as soon as we know and reschedule.
