Pay on arrival — no card needed

Cruise days have a deadline, and that changes how a transfer is planned. We take your sailing time, work backwards from boarding close, and set the pick-up so you reach the port with margin. The drive from Marco Polo to the Venice passenger terminal is 16 km and about 22 minutes, arriving at Marittima or, for ships handled there, at the Fusina and Chioggia berths used since large vessels stopped entering the Giudecca canal. Your driver handles the luggage to the terminal entrance, where the porters take over. On disembarkation day we do the reverse and wait for you at the exit with a name board.

  • Pick-up scheduled backwards from your boarding deadline, not from a generic time
  • Luggage carried to the terminal entrance, where port porters take over
  • Marittima, Fusina and Chioggia berths all covered — tell us the ship, we know the pier
  • Disembarkation transfers with a name board at the terminal exit
  • Fixed price per vehicle for up to 6 passengers with cruise luggage
  • Night and early-morning sailings covered — we operate 24/7

Terminal crociere di Venezia

About the destination

Venice remains one of the Mediterranean's great cruise homeports even after the 2021 rules that stopped the largest ships from crossing the Giudecca canal in front of St Mark's. Today the Stazione Marittima still handles smaller vessels and river cruisers, while the biggest ships berth at Fusina and Marghera, on the mainland lagoon edge, and some itineraries use Chioggia to the south. Which pier you sail from depends on your ship, not on your booking, and it is printed on your cruise documents — send it to us and we take you to the right gate, which on an embarkation morning is the only detail that matters.

About the route

Road, traffic and timing

From Marco Polo the route crosses the Ponte della Libertà to reach the Stazione Marittima, 16 km and about 22 minutes away, or turns off before the causeway for the Fusina and Marghera berths on the mainland. The people mover monorail connects Tronchetto, Marittima and Piazzale Roma in three minutes for passengers who need it.

Travel tips

Know before you go

  • Put the ship name and sailing time in the booking notes: the pier depends on the vessel
  • On embarkation morning aim to be at the terminal as boarding opens, not as it closes
  • Keep passports and cruise cards in hand luggage, not in the cases going to the porters

What to visit

Nearby attractions

  • Stazione Marittima — the historic passenger port of Venice
  • Tronchetto and the people mover to Piazzale Roma
  • Zattere promenade — the Giudecca canal waterfront
  • Piazzale Roma — vaporetto lines to every district
  • St Mark's Square — 25 minutes by waterbus from the terminal

When to visit

Seasonal notes & events

Cruise season peaks between May and October, with Saturday and Sunday mornings the busiest for embarkation: on those days we set the pick-up earlier. In winter the port is quiet, but fog on the lagoon can delay the causeway in the early hours — a factor we build into the schedule rather than discover on the day.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much is a transfer from Venice airport to the cruise terminal?+

From €75 for up to 3 passengers and €100 for a V-Class up to 6 — the vehicle to choose if you travel with full cruise luggage. The price is per vehicle and fixed at booking.

Which cruise terminal will my ship use?+

It depends on the vessel: Stazione Marittima for smaller ships and river cruisers, Fusina or Marghera for the largest, sometimes Chioggia. Your cruise documents state the berth — send it to us with the booking and we drive you to that gate.

What time should the transfer pick me up on embarkation day?+

We work backwards from boarding close, which is usually 1–2 hours before sailing, and add a margin for lagoon traffic. Give us the ship and the sailing time and we propose the pick-up.

Can you collect us the morning we disembark?+

Yes. Disembarkation is staggered by deck, so we agree a time with you and the driver waits at the terminal exit with a name board, then drives you to the airport or your hotel.

Is there enough room for cruise luggage?+

A standard sedan takes 3 passengers with 3 medium cases. With large cruise trunks, or from 4 people, book the Mercedes V-Class: it is designed for exactly this.
