Tofane and Cristallo, Olympic in 1956 and 2026.
Cortina d'Ampezzo lies at 1,224 m in a bowl ringed by the Tofane, Cristallo, Sorapis and Faloria. It hosted the Winter Olympics in 1956 and again, with Milan, in February 2026. In winter it is the gateway to the Dolomiti Superski network, 1,200 km of pistes on a single pass; in summer it is the base for via ferrate and mountain refuges. From Marco Polo it is under two hours, skis included.
